Queen in Cornwall
A New Book by Rupert White

QUEEN IN CORNWALL

Rupert White

On June 27th, 1970 the rock group 'Queen' gave their first ever public performance. The concert was in Truro City Hall, in the county of Cornwall.

'Queen in Cornwall' tells the story of the events that lead up to, and

immediately followed, this historic moment. It describes drummer

Roger Taylor's early musical career in the county, and includes the definitive history of his first semi-pro group 'The Reaction'. The book also describes his

move to London, and his return visits to Cornwall with 'Smile', the band that within two years had evolved into Queen.

'Queen in Cornwall' quotes extensively from new interviews with more

than fifty friends and associates of Roger Taylor and the other members

of Queen, many of whom are telling their version of the story for the

first time.
